Birds of a feather

Well now we are onto the wild birds in the area. Some of my favourites are the Galahs, they are silly things but so pretty, I love the clours of pink and gray. Mother nature certainly knows how to coordinate outfits.

Galahs again in one or our bigger gum trees.

As everyone must know every farm needs ducks and geese. We started out figuring to use them for food but I named them all so now we can't kill them as they are our pets (see there is a way around any obstacle hehehe).

A pied butcher bird

A Miner, one of the native birds as opposed to the Noisy Miners brought in from Asia. Notice it is a gray coloured where the others are brown.

More Galahs acting like........well.........galahs.

Launch of the brigade.

At the centre is a bird but I don't really know what kind it is, but it has just landed.

Closer but still not sure what it is.

Can you see the eagle with th backdrop of our rain forest?
Close up of the ducks in our dam.

Here come two wild duck with their landing gear down and ready to grasp the branches.

Good close-up eh?

A close-up of a Willy Wagtail.

A finch of some variety but not sure which.
Such a pretty little thing.

And once again a galah.

The Wedge-tailed Eagle looking for its daily meal.
And its not going to be this guy as he sits very quietly.

More Galahs being hungry...

being thirsty....
being fanciful....
being scared off by the boys (peacocks).
Two of our Boyos, feathers pretty well dropped for the winter now, with odd hanger on.
