A continental trip - Part 1

Arlington National Cemetary, such a quiet and sombre place. All those lives lost, all with so much potential.

The US flag at half mast during the days when there are funerals at Arlington. As soon as the last funeral service is finished the flag goes to full mast again. Very touching and seeing this one can understand the pride the Americans feel for their country and their history.

The Iwo Jima memorial. It takes your breath away, especially to think about those involved and those who died protecting everyone.
The Washington Memorial with the Capital Dome in the background to the right and the Jefferson Memorial to the left.

More of Arlington.

The Lincoln Memorial.

More Canada geese.

A goofy little squirrel who became Craig's friend.
The Korean Memorial is the most amazing pieces of sculpture. they are so lifelike.
The Lincoln Memorial once again from further away.
The Washington Memorial and beside it "SuperSquirrel"

Isn't he cute? We don't have these in Australia and are so nice to see again.
