A continental trip - Part 2

On a trip to Mount Vernon the lineups to get into the house were so long, but the best was outside anyway so that is where we stayed.

Ornamental peach and plum trees as well as cherry trees starting to bloom. Plus all the tulips and daffodils you can count.

Aren't these lovely? It puts me in mind of the poem The Daffodils.

We are not quite sure what kind of birds these are and anyone who can help us is welcome to let us know.

Very pretty little things though. Possibly some sort of finch?

And once again a Robin red breast, so different from the type of robins we have in Australia.

Above left is downtown Washington I think and to the right a very old style fire hydrant. More wild life at mount Vernon.

The Memorial once again.
More views of the Capital.

The White House.
